Benefits of Suvigya for the Pensioners
Project Suvigya was inaugurated by the Hon. Defence Minister on 1st October, 2010 in New Delhi, during the Defence Accounts Day celebrations. Project Aashraya, the new pension disbursement project, was also inaugurated during the same function
Project Suvigya is a pension enquiry system. It is implemented through a software program developed by HQrs EDP Centre. The above project enables the pensioner to know the revisions carried out in his/her basic pension in all stages from the date of retirement or date of sanction of pension. For instance, a pensioner retired on 01.01.1972 can come to know what was his basic pension in various stages like 01.01.1973 (IIIrd CPC), 01.01.1986 (IVth CPC), 01.10.1992 (One Time Increase or OTI), 01.01.1996 (Vth CPC), 01.04.2004 (Introduction of Dearness Pension) 01.01.2006 (both under Improvement in Pension and VIth CPC) and 01.07.2009 ( One Rank One Pension).  Besides, it displays the rate of Additional Quantum of Pension admissible to old age pensioners. It enables them to check whether their pension is being paid at the correct rates. Accurate information on basic details such as date of birth, date of retirement, Rank, Group, First Pension sanctioned, etc., should be provided to the DPDOs, for obtaining correct information under the Project.
Project Suvigya has been implemented in all DPDOs under CDA(PD) Meerut. Any pensioner can visit the above DPDOs with the following documents and obtain the required information;
i) Pension book
ii) A copy of the Pension Payment Order (PPO) through which pension was originally notified.
iii) A print out of the rates of revision at various stages will be handed over to the pensioner
Project Suvigya is not applicable to the following type of pensioners at present:
i) Disability Pensioners
ii) Family Pensioners whose pension payment order (PPO) was issued after the death of their spouse (husband or wife).
iii) Children in receipt of family pension subsequent to the death of their parents
